Mariah Carey launches ABC Good Morning America’s summer concert series on April 25. Taylor Swift follows on the 29th and Carly Simon on the 30th. Steve Winwood sings on May 2, followed by Josh Groban (May 16); Counting Crows (May 23); and Usher (May 30). The June slate includes Ashanti and guest (6); Cyndi Lauper (13); Boyz II Men (20); and Maroon 5 (27). Chaka Khan sings July Fourth, followed by Miley Cyrus (18) and Feist (25). Broadway’s Rent cast takes the stage Aug. 1; the Jonas Brothers perform Aug. 8.

According to a press release about the nationwide screening of Awake Live:

On the heels of Josh Groban’s “Awake Live” CD/DVD release today; Warner Bros. Records also announced that “Awake Live” will screen in over 30 theaters nationwide for one night only on May 15, 2008 at 8 PM local time. Directed by Hamish Hamilton, “Awake Live” captures Groban’s exhilarating performance at Salt Lake City’s EnergySolutions Arena before a sold-out crowd of 15,000 thrilled fans on August 28th, 2007. The screenings will all show “Awake Live” in HD.

Josh in New York

According to a recent interview with New York’s Associated Press, Josh doesn’t mind being teased for being on People’s “most beautiful” list. The gist of it:

“I always had a really great time flipping through the magazine and making fun of everybody,” Groban told The Associated Press with a laugh. “I’m really honored to be one of those people that I’m sure people will be criticizing.”

He goes on to say:

For me, the whole beauty and the whole idea of people saying you’re beautiful or you’re not is not something I generally paid attention to,” the 27-year-old multi-platinum singer told the AP. “But I was very, very honored that they included me in their issue.”
