Josh Groban at the “Atonement” special screening after party
I always love finding new photos of Josh. In particular, I quite like this photo of him at the after party of the special screening of Atonement in December last year. You can just see, just behind him, the poster of Robbie in the red poppy fields. As you might remember, Atonement was a strong contender in this year’s Oscars, garnering six nominations and one win. The golden statuette went to Dario Marianelli, who created a beautiful score for the film. I particularly recommend Elegy for Dunkirk from the soundtrack.
While I see the film as a flawed masterpiece, the original novel by Ian McEwan stands as one of my favourite books. Another of my literary favourites, Cormac McCarthy’s great post-apocalyptic novel, The Road, is currently being adapted to screen, starring Viggo Mortensen and Australia’s own Kodi Smit-McPhee. I look forward to seeing Josh at the film premiere.
