Sunday Telegraph interviews Josh
Sunday Telegraph (11 May) features an interview with Josh. He talks about his fans, his vices and his upcoming album.
Of his new album, Josh says:
Groban seems to be nodding to his critics when he promises that the next album will be ‘a little simpler, something that’s more about just writing beautiful songs and singing them beautifully, without a lot of fluff; more organic’. He’s going to work on his range, try to sing more freely, less ‘by the book’, and experiment[...] But there’s no getting away from that deep, polished baritone.
And what does he think about his fans?
‘I’ve got the pulse of what they want, how they tick,’ he says. ‘You have a message board of maybe 500 to 1,000 people who post all the time, and they’re very vocal. Generally, those are the same peopel that you see at the venue, or at the backstage door. They’re the hard core. I’d say they’re the ones that deserve the name Grobanite.’
