Confirmed: Josh will perform at the Nelson Mandela Concert

Last month, I posted my suspicion that Josh would be part of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebration.

Now, Project 46664, the official site for the event, has confirmed that Josh has joined the list of performers at the concert, to be held at London’s Hyde Park on Friday, 27 June.

I always love finding new photos of Josh. In particular, I quite like this photo of him at the after party of the special screening of Atonement in December last year. You can just see, just behind him, the poster of Robbie in the red poppy fields. As you might remember, Atonement was a strong contender in this year’s Oscars, garnering six nominations and one win. In an interview with the Herald Sun, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic talks about some of his future work. Interestingly, Josh Groban was mentioned. He says:

I’ve got other songs stored up, other hits, that have been distributed. I’m more focused on who I’ll work with now. I’m more picky. I’ve done three songs with Chris Cornell. Josh Groban’s people are in touch. I did a song with James Morrison.

Of course, it isn’t confirmed yet, but stay tuned for more news tidbits GrobanWire.com picks up about Josh’s next album.
